The Orvis Log Homes were inspired by the character
of America's iconic national park structures.
The cabins that marked our countrys westward
discovery were designed by pure function and practicality. The
American family then discovered what it meant to gather together
for time in the wild. The very moment rough natural materials
and pioneer-style construction became a matter of choice rather
than necessity, the American cabin was born. The great park lodges
became bastions of warmth, civilized family compounds, and keepers
of memories. Practicality became form. A building style became
family tradition. And Orvis was there to see it happen.
